Paragraph Writing : The Padma Bridge

The Padma Bridge is the longest bridge in Bangladesh. This dream bridge is the biggest project in Bangladesh which is built without any foreign aid. It is a multipurpose road-rail bridge over the Padma river, It is the world’s 6th largest multipurpose bridge. The Padma Bridge is the 122nd longest bridge in the world and the longest bridge in the South Asian region. The construction was started on 7th December 2014 and completed by May 2022. The bridge has been opened for the people by the honorable prime minister, Sheikh Hasina on June 25 of 2022. The length of the bridge is 6.15 km and the width is 18.10 km. It contains a four lane highway on the upper level and a single-track railway on the lower level. The total number of spans of the bridge is 41 and the number of pillars is 42. Each of the spans is 150 meters long and weighs 3140 tons. It is a bunch bridge. The main raw material of the bridge is steel. The Padma Bridge surely has a significant contribution to the Social, Economic, and Industrial development of the southern part of Bangladesh. It connects 22 districts directly with the capital. It saves 2 hours of the vehicles which were wasted before due to the ferry transportation system. That’s why it brings a revolutionary change in the life of southwest residential peoples. The Bridge is playing an important role not only in the country but also in the regional connectivity of Asia and Southeast Asia.
